The Burrows is an 1860s stone cottage that has been sensitively restored across the decades. This secluded home is filled with an eclectic mix of treasures, bespoke finds, and original artworks, and has seen many transformations over the years. But one thing certainly hasn't changed - the expansive views of Freycinet and the Hazards.
Whatever the weather, this little cottage, set within the rugged coastal landscape, is the perfect escape from the hectic pace of everyday life and provides a retreat in which to slow down, relax, dream and reconnect.
Start your workday the right way, with breakfast of the house! Enjoy locally sourced sourdough bread, free range eggs, locally made jam, milk, butter and T2 tea and coffee…if you can get out of bed, that is! Both bedrooms have views over the water and an intimate bathhouse, complete with a clawfoot bath and french doorsto watch the sunset reflected over the Hazards.
Set up your workspace in the large living area, with a wood fire at one end, feather sofa and armchairs, and a custom made window seat overlooking Great Oyster Bay.
At midday, treat yourself to a croissant from Little Bay Patisserie. Run by a Kiwi barista and her Brazilian husband (who is certified by the Parisian pastry school Cordon Bleu, no less) this is an extraordinary find so far from France.
While you’re eating, see if you can spot any wildlife near the home! Wallabies, possums, rabbits and echidnas are regular visitors to The Burrows and enjoy grazing in the landscape around the house. You graze, they graze, we all graze!
