This is the holiday destination to top all holidays. The chance to have an entire island all to yourself. Yes, you read that correctly. The. Entire. Island.
Book your own private island for ten people, 800 metres offshore from Coles Bay and the Freycinet National Park, and just around the corner from the world famous Wineglass Bay. Lose yourself in the natural beauty of this place with the majestic backdrop of the pink granite Hazards mountain range. Fully copper clad, the stunning lodge is designed by Tasmanian architect, John Latham.
Your holiday begins the second you step onto your water taxi transfer to the island. The accomodation offers five king double bedrooms which can be configured into twin king singles if required. The communal “Birdhouse” features comfy leather couches, a suspended fireplace and a well fitted out kitchen, the perfect place to congregate for a meal or to relax on the deck.
Check your emails in front of the fireplace, or enjoy the good library of reference books and plenty of old school board games… if you can drag yourself away from the views.
When the sun goes down, the penguins and shearwaters come in. You will be amazed by the hundreds of birds arriving back to their burrows in this incredible island seabird rookery. If sea life is more your thing, you may well spot a whale, dolphin or seal just off the island. If you fish, flathead and squid are abundant as well as mussels you can pick off the rocks and abalone and sea urchins under the water.
