Aplite House sits amongst a two hundred acre private property of secluded forest on the spectacular east coast of Tasmania. The property is fringed by the world renowned Freycinet National Park and provides a private home base, which is well positioned for exploring this special part of Tasmania.
The property surrounding Aplite House is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna including orchids, Tasmanian devils, wombats, possums, wallabies, quolls and wedge tail eagles. Boasting spectacular views over Moulting Lagoon conservation area, it's a completely relaxing and tranquil environment.
Aplite House is a solar powered home, built from entirely Tasmanian materials. The size and location of the property enable privacy and tranquility, with easy access to the wonderful natural locations. The house has a minimal global footprint, however, there’s been no compromise for comfort required to achieve this environmentally friendly house. The home gathers its own water supply from rainfall stored in three 24,000 litre tanks and is off grid solar powered, with a generator back up.
Inside the home you’ll discover a continually growing collection of Tasmanian art located in the house, including paintings, photography, ceramics, glass work, print making, origami and sculpture.
When it’s time to forget about work, get exploring! There’s plenty on offer in the area, including Coles Bay, the Wineglass Bay hiking trail, Honeymoon Bay, Cape Tourville Lighthouse, Bicheno Blowhole, Freycinet National Park, Douglas Apsley National Park and East Coast vineyards, along with the many other activities the region offers.
